M31 Hα Survey

The purpose is to find Nova type variable stars on M31.

The survey consist in 6 fields with the following coordinates (J2000).

  1. 00h45m07s +41°37'57"
  2. 00h43m10s +41°37'57"
  3. 00h43m42s +41°16'08"
  4. 00h41m46s +41°16'08"
  5. 00h42m43s +40°54'20"
  6. 00h40m48s +40°54'20"

Every field have a FOV of 23'×23' and is taken through Hα filter with an equivalent exposure of 900s: with this setup is possible to detect novae up to mag. 17.5

Every discover will be used in the following research program of the Asiago Observatory, mount Ekar:
"TO_4 Spectrophotometric Study of Novae in Nearby Galaxies (PI: F. Di Mille)"
